Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Corrector Review

Clinique is a very well known and respected company in the world of cosmetics. They make everything from foundation to CC cream and beyond. But one of the most interesting products they have is the Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Corrector. This product is designed to help reduce unsightly dark splotches on your skin.

Clinique Even Better Dark Spot Corrector Review

Even Better Dark Spot Corrector is able to be used on any skin tone or type. It’s mainly meant to be applied to the face but the website states that it can be used for other areas, too, such as the hands and chest. It can help to fade away dark spots on your skin as well as age spots and even nasty old acne cars.

How it Works

Even Better uses a combination of brighteners, exfoliants, antioxidants, and anti-irritants to slowly but surely clear up dark splotches on the skin. It moisturizes, softens, and evens out the skin tone to make blemishes disappear. Unfortunately it is also one of the slowest-working products available for lightening areas on the skin.

Clinique’s official website states on the Even Better product page that the general amount of improvement seen after 12 weeks (3 months) of use is around 58%. This is a fair improvement but comes at a very slow pace compared to the results offered by other products.

NOTE: Faster working products are available. Two of the best that we’ve reviewed are Meladerm Skin Lightener by Civant and Illuminatural 6i Lightener by Skinception.

Ingredients

The most active brightening agents found in Clinique’s dark spot corrector are:

  • Glucosamine
  • Salicylic Acid

Both of these are naturally occurring components. But, while both are known to be helpful in the skin lightening process they are both known to be rather weak compared to more advanced and effective ingredients such as Arbutin and Hydroquinone. The rest of the ingredients found in Even Better are more designed to help firm, smooth, and soften the skin, not brighten it.

Customer Reviews

On Clinique’s own site customers are able to provide reviews of this product. From the collection of over 1,100 reviews (at the time of this writing) the average rating was 74% out of 100%. While this seems to be a decent score it should also be noted that larger companies have been known to alter these ratings on their websites.

Out of all the reviews provided for the product on sites like Amazon, Even Better Dark Spot Corrector has only averaged a rating of 3 out of 5 stars. Some people find it useful while others state that they saw no improvements in the dark regions of their skin at all. Even the ones that said it worked also warned other buyers that it requires using the product daily for 6 to 8 weeks or longer before seeing any real results.
